Week of First Sunday in Lent… 2/18/2018 *push/click*

DEMAND THAT HELP…

Lord God, our strength, the battle of good and evil rages within and around us, and our ancient foe tempts us with his deceits and empty promises.  Keep us steadfast in your Word and, when we fall, raise us again and restore us through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

We are half-way through this church week…

I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU A PSALM THAT IS EXTREMELY AWESOME… BUT FIRST, LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT LENT…

2/14/2018

MY CHURCH HAD AN AWESOME SERVICE.

On Ash Wednesday, I went to Karn’s, ate a salad and played with my phone before the church service… Some dude took notice of me and watched me get out of my seat and walk to my car. I PARKED THAT DAMN CAR AT THE END OF THE PARKING LOT. I WENT IN MY CAR AND DECIDED TO PRACTICE MY TOASTMASTER SPEECH ON “FEAR”, TO OCCUPY MY TIME BEFORE THAT LENTEN SERVICE. I then, saw that dude walk up to my car…

(rolling down window)

me: hi

dude: are you alright???

me: yeah, are you???

dude: I saw you get up from your chair and walk to your car. I can drive you to wherever you need to go. We can go together.

me: you know, I’m cool… I am just waiting for my church service to begin… THANK YOU!!!

Thank you 2.14.2018

HERE IS WHAT I HEARD AT THE SERVICE.

DEMAND THAT HELP…

A PSALM, A PSALM, A PSALM…

Psalm 25

Prayer for Guidance and for Deliverance

To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
O my God, in you I trust;
    do not let me be put to shame;
    do not let my enemies exult over me.
Do not let those who wait for you be put to shame;
    let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all day long.

Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love,
    for they have been from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your steadfast love remember me,
    for your goodness’ sake, O Lord!

Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his decrees.

11 For your name’s sake, O Lord,
    pardon my guilt, for it is great.
12 Who are they that fear the Lord?
    He will teach them the way that they should choose.

13 They will abide in prosperity,
    and their children shall possess the land.
14 The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him,
    and he makes his covenant known to them.
15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
    for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
    for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 Relieve the troubles of my heart,
    and bring me[a] out of my distress.
18 Consider my affliction and my trouble,
    and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider how many are my foes,
    and with what violent hatred they hate me.
20 O guard my life, and deliver me;
    do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
    for I wait for you.
